Elizabeth Sproul, M.S., LPC, AAT
Licensed Professional Counselor Animal Assisted Therapist An existence rooted in empathy and care led me to pursue a career in therapy, where I can be a voice, educator, listener, and an advocate for my clients. My focus in my practice includes working with clients experiencing a variety of symptoms, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, PTSD, early childhood trauma, and grief/loss. My ability to authentically meet my clients where they are at creates an environment for connection and growth.
While my therapeutic approach varies with the needs of the client in front of me, I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, feminist based approach, and narrative therapy in my practice. My practice also includes play therapy, expressive arts, skills work, and animal-assisted therapy (AAT) with my lovable 2-year-old therapy dog, Lory. Studies have shown that AAT can reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood and self-esteem, and enhance social interaction for the client through nurturing the human-animal bond as part of the treatment process. I have experience in my practice working with a wide variety of clients, from children and adolescents to adults and seniors. Whether you’re an individual seeking understanding of self or a parent seeking help in understanding your child, my experience can help you or your child reach their full potential. I am also an LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapist. Outside of my work as a therapist, my interests include: a passion for animals, baking, painting, and reading. Outside of Lory’s work as a therapist, her passions include cuddling, playing with her tennis ball, and string cheese. I look forward to working with you or your child. |
