COMPREHENSIVE PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL EVALUATIONS

If your child is struggling in school, please take advantage of my free 20-minute initial consultation service. This will help determine what services will suit your needs best. Some children may benefit from a comprehensive evaluation, while others may benefit from just having a dyslexia screener. If my services are not a good fit, I will provide other resources that may be able to point you in the right direction! To schedule a free consultation or learn more about my services, please feel free to complete the contact form.

Comprehensive Evaluation and Educational Evaluation for Dyslexia

The evaluation process starts with an intake interview with the parents or guardian and completion of appropriate forms. An appointment will be scheduled for your child to be administered the testing and assessments. This typically takes anywhere from four to six hours and can be completed in either one or two sessions. Parents and teachers may also be asked to complete rating scales pertaining to the child's behavioral, social, and/or emotional functioning skills.

After all of the testing and assessments are completed, a comprehensive psycho-educational report will be written. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to review the results/report with the parents and the student.

A comprehensive evaluation is appropriate for those who have been exposed to several years of instruction and/or interventions but continue to struggle in school.

Fees

The fee for a comprehensive evaluation is $1,750 (price increase to $1,950 starting 03/01/2021)

The fee includes an intake interview, the testing session with the student, a comprehensive written report, and an exit meeting to discuss testing results and recommendations.

Although, insurance does not typically cover the expense of this type of evaluation, many medical flexible spending accounts do. Acceptable forms of payment are medical flex account credit cards, major credit cards, checks, and cash.

To schedule an appointment or discuss your concerns, please complete the contact form or call 651-560-6042.

Dyslexia Screener Evaluation

The dyslexia screener evaluation process will begin with an intake interview with the parents or guardian and completion of appropriate forms. An appointment will be scheduled for your child to be administered  assessments that are known to be highly correlated with reading difficulties. This typically will take one to two hours. Writing samples and school records will also be requested and reviewed.

After the assessments are completed, the results and impressions will be provided in a written report. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to review the results with the parents and student.

The screener is best suited for children in kindergarten or early first grade and are beginning to suspect reading difficulties.

The screener is not appropriate for those seeking services through the Children's Dyslexia Center Upper Wisconsin. The testing involved in a comprehensive evaluation is required in order to meet their application requirements.

Fees

The fee for a dyslexia screener evaluation is $550.

The fee includes an intake interview, the testing session with the student, a written report, and an exit interview to discuss the results and recommendations.

To schedule an appointment or discuss your concerns, please complete the contact form or call 651-560-6042.

School Meetings
